Why are we doing this?

We have been giving back to the community in many ways over the years.  When we sat down one day, after watching the movie Instant Family, we began to talk about how we wanted to make a difference that we could see.  Furthermore, we wanted to give other students our age the chance to recognize that you could start something from the ground up and change the way you see the world, and the way the world sees you.

So, after only a few minutes of discussion, we decided to give suitcases and backpacks to kids who needed them.  Whether they are using the suitcase to move from one foster home to another, or in some cases to a permanent home, suitcases symbolize a journey.  The journey may be only a short distance, but it can change a life. When you have something that is your own, the journey is more meaningful.

Backpacks for school are the ultimate tool to keep your life organized and live up to your potential.  Jared is super organized and his backpack has everything handy at a glance. Jack, on the other hand, has a backpack that looks like it is about to explode.  But, organized or messy, those backpacks connect our home and school lives.

Also, we feel like suitcases and backpacks can be inspiring.  They have potential. A sturdy suitcase and/or backpack can take you around the world on an adventure.
